Ghosts of the past return to haunt, buried skeletons tumbling out,
That thing you swept under the carpet, is out in the open, hold your breath or you may choke,
Hiding beneath the bed that day, what did you see, I would like to know,
Blue skies crimson tinged, fiery eyeball, no shelter, escape,
That rainy day, torn raincoats, that slipper day, school bags hung to dry,
Whiff of spice, the shared lunch, diving eagle, catch me if you can,
Morning news, silent wait for the bell to ring, euphoria and escape,
Freedom to rejoice, soft coccoons of childhood silk, spinning webs and dreams,
That ambition and envy, washed away by the black of night, spotless hearts wake up,
Picnics, wet, hungry, tousled hair full of sand, tired, weary but elated, heaven,
Flutter in the stomach, butterfly wings, podium mike, await your turn,
A quiet place, the very corner, where walls meet, you are in but almost out,
Window, some one else's life and home, Another world out of bounds, during Hindi,
Story, incredible poetry and the way you said it, scarred for life softly, pleasure, joy,
Sun and moon, stars foretell, weatherman and farmer, soil, rocks, rivers weeps, changing paths and geography
Float and fly, gravity, in physics all things must fall, bubble and dissolve, pages of History, defy mathematics.
Guys,
Make what you will of the gibberish above. What it probably mean is that I am moved and touched and shaken and stirred. It has been a amazing time since I got a call from Sumanta and then talked with Satendra and Manish and then again Satendra and now all these mails whizzing around!!
Seems like yesterday that we were in school together. What times we had and what times they were. Any way......
My vote is for Winter 2009.
